A book that I’ve wanted to read for a very long time but still haven’t: Pale Blue Dot (Carl Sagan) [30 Day Book Challenge 23/30]
Art dump part 4
okay story time
so my art teacher assigned us to do a chalk pastel still life of fruits n shit and I was like “no”
so I drew a banana instead.
and my teacher came by like “you need to have more than one fruit in your still life”
so I was like “k”
and so I put that cherry on top of the banana and titled it “Banana Split Without The Ice Cream Because Life Is Full Of Disappointments: By Fall Out Boy" and I turned that shit in.
My art teacher just started laughing out loud in the middle of class
"Dont say you hate your fam-" No.
"Omg you should love your fami-" No.
"Be grateful they’re your famil-" No.
If you have been bullied, hit, teased, put down, hurt, lied to, or hated by you’re own family; you don’t need to justify how you feel. You dont need to explain yourself. You are allowed to hate a family member or dislike a family member if they’ve given you a reason to.
Listen, this is the way
the world works,
and don’t act like
you’ve never been
told this before.
You can make friends,
turn them into lovers,
but that will never
do the proper justice
of making your loneliness
feel a little less alone.
Today the absolutely best thing happened. My friend, who was in a coma for almost 11 months, woke up. I was in the middle of my exam when I got the voice mail “Tamara, come to the hospital, it’s really important.” My mother was talking really weird so my first thought was the worst happened, but on the contrary - today is the best day of my life. I ran to the hospital and there she was, waiting for me. Wide awake. She started to react to her new medication and she simply woke up! I didn’t know it would happen so fast. I still can’t believe it. :) Here’s a story I’d like to share. A few months ago I was reading her paper towns and on the part when Ben pees in a bottle she was kind of smiling. After that, reading paper towns became our thing, it was really nice to see her ‘react’ somehow. I read it probably 15-20 times and never got tired of it. The first thing she said to me today was “could you read me paper towns one last time please?” and that’s when I knew that all of this time she could hear me. I’m still half sobbing but I’m so happy words can’t explain. John is my favorite author since I can remember, but today he became even more dear to my heart. This book has a whole new meaning for me now. Thank you John!!! :)
This needs to be spread around so john green sees this.

CALLING ALL WRITERS & CURATORS!
Cool news! We’re gonna be making a new set of Postcards to sell in our RECord Store based on catamaranwestern’s collaboration “Scenes From a Fictional Film.” There are tons of potential visuals for the fronts of these Postcards - now let’s make the backs of ‘em!
WRITERS: Write a Fake Film Synopsis (including a Fake Title & Release Date) for your favorite visual contributions to the collab. You can release these as Text Record (please resource the visual you’re writing about) or use THIS TEMPLATE to create both the Front & Back of your Postcard design.
CURATORS: Make an Album of 10 Postcards from the collaboration that you think would work well together as a set.
